God Bless America
Here in
God-bless-America
There is freedom
Limited only by
Individual rights
(And all-powerful They)
And there are no social classes;
Every man is equal.
(Of course
One doesn’t
Marry the drunken poet
But he is a fine man
In his own way
Although
Not quite so good
As I)
And there are no
Racial prejudices
(Although one wouldn’t really
Be friends with a Negro
Or a Jew)
But you must admit
That under Capitalism
Some people do
Get-ahead
(Especially if they’re
White-Anglo-Saxon-Protestant-Millionaires)
But only by chance
Because
God-loves-everyone
Equally
In America.
